FABP   is a protein of 14 kDa involved in lipid binding. It takes different forms depending on the body tissue it is isolated from. For the cardiac sourced product (FABP-H or FABP-3) some studies indicate it may be a better early marker of Myocardial Infarction than Myoglobin. The Liver form (FABP-L or FABP-1) is an indicator in urine of kidney damage
